About us

A quick backstory - I hated sewing at school, I failed it. Couldn’t see the point in it.
Years later, Mum and Dad were moving after retiring and I took Mums original Elna because I decided I wanted to sew. I mean, it couldn’t be that hard could it?

Rosie Posie is a small business located in Diggers Rest, NW of Melbourne. It was started at the beginning of 2020, right before Covid hit.
I was making bits and pieces, watching everything I could on You Tube, asking questions in the facebook sewing groups and following everyone I could to learn as much as I could.
I love sewing and embroidery now, it really is the most relaxing thing.
And to be honest if I didn’t have sewing during the continuous Victorian lockdowns during Covid, I would have gone insane, no joke.

When Covid was about to hit our shores, I had been finding patterns for masks, and eventually found one that was a nice fit around the face but it was a one size only situation. After many attempts I finally got one to fit me nicely and worked out my own little measurement formula to try and make them as snug as possible for everyone. I had already opened my Etsy shop before Covid and before lockdowns and mandatory masks, but the day they announced masks would be mandatory in Victoria, is the day Rosie Posie absolutely kicked off. It was honestly out of control. I was working full time as well as running Rosie Posie. I was sewing until 3 or 4 in the morning and getting up for work. I ended up making just over 300 masks in a month. I had Liam in the sweat shop cutting out for me and I was at the post office nearly every day with bags of masks.

After masks slowed down I got right into bag making and trying to find and make anything that was a bag, or that I thought was unusual, reusable or just plain cool.

I think the item i’m most impressed with is the travel bag, never in my wildest dreams would I have thought I could make something like that.

I have expanded into embroidery and am honestly loving it. I personally think embroidery looks so opulent, well when I was younger I thought anyone that had embroidery on their shirts etc was rich. Sheltered life maybe haha.

I have also now added bag hardware to the Rosie Posie empire. An opportunity came up that I couldn’t refuse so I jumped on it. I use the hardware for my creations so it just feels natural to offer it to my customers as well. If you’re wondering what bag hardware is, it’s things like D ring, swivel clips, strap sliders, key fobs and more. I’m slowly building up the options as I go through the boxes of products I purchased, so keep an eye out for more awesome items.

Where did the name come from? Well I’m Tamara and Rosie is my gorgeous little pooches name. I call her Rosie Posie, hence the business name.

I would love to get Rosie Posie products out there, if you wanted to like and share my Facebook and Instagram pages that would be very much appreciated.

I’m not here to rip anyone off, I think I am fair and reasonable when it comes to pricing and I’m very helpful, accommodating, thoughtful and creative when it comes to designing and making your products.
